No outside temp…at first, so I called for help After getting this, I installed new batteries in each unit. The main unit came to life but the outside unit only blinked once. The display showed a outside temp of 33 degrees but it was sitting on my table beside the other unit showing 68 degrees. I took the batteries out and put them back in again multiple times. Problem with Sub-Zero Temperatures When I received this product I immediately spotted a disclaimer in the Instruction Manual that isn’t stated on the Amazon page; “The outdoor sensor requires lithium batteries in low temperature conditions. Alternative use, protecting my pet This works for what I needed. I camp often with my dog. At times I want to get a bite to eat at a restaurant instead of the campfire.
