Work great with 7 of my fans and SmartThings Home Automation system At the time I was looking for zwave fan controllers, the Leviton VRF01-1LZ Vizia RF + was pretty much the only viable option if just not the only one. Not sure why manufacturers would make zwave dimmers and no fan controllers anyhow fast forward a year or two and we now have a few more options which fortunately for those shopping now has resulted in lower prices. I have 7 of these switches installed at home and I really never had any issues with them other than a couple popping and smoking…

Updated (Switches Work Now) – Leviton is Having Quality Control Problems, Don’t Purchase Until They Are Sorted Out [Update – February 19th, 2015]After 4 months of Leviton shipping me bad parts they stopped. The switches were listed as “out of stock.” After 5 months after that, they finally shipped new switches and once installed they worked. They would not acknowledge any of my requests for information about what the delay was. But I would be willing to speculate that they finally determined they had a bad manufacturing run and were correcting the issue or switching manufacturers…

Leviton Tech Support Points their finger at everything else but their defective device! I bought two of these to replace failing Insteon Fanlincs. One worked. The other was a huge problem. After I installed it, when it was turned off, the fan would run on a low speed. I called Leviton tech support and they told me my fan was incompatible and that the low voltage output when off was necessary to keep the LED lit. As a result of what the Leviton tech support told us, we purchased a new fan identical to one in our living room that works fine with one of these fan controllers…
